Issue
Sisu will be updated to a new version (Sisu 2.5) on Mon 1 November starting at 5pm. The update will cause a downtime of approx. 2 hours. There may also be problems with the study-related widgets in the intranet.

Interruptions in TAMK network connections possible on Tuesday 27 Oct. 2021

Issue
Modifications will be made to TAMK’s network connections on Tuesday morning, 27 Oct. 2021, between 6:00 and 8:00, which might cause interruptions in the services using the Internet connection. Interruptions might occur e.g. in the following services Pakki, Peppi and Wiki as well as in wireless guest networks (TUNI-GUEST, eduroam, roam.fi) and in information displays (eg in lobbies and food lines). In addition, the modifications may cause short interruptions in the Internet connections of the Tite and WPK networks.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
The changes to be made are part of the TUNI core network renewal project, in which the core network implementation of the campuses will be renewed during 2021-2022 and the Internet connection will be updated to better serve the current and future needs of the Tampere university community.

Special points to consider:
Hervanta: The device update will cause two 10-15 minutes interruptions in the network connections in Kampusareena and Sähkötalo between 17.15-18.15.
City center campus: The core device update will cause an interruption in PinniB’s wired and wireless network connection. The break will last about 10 minutes after 18.30 (estimated). The break does not apply to TietoPinni.
During the maintenance evening breaks will occur in the following packaged services of the higher education community:
- Services requiring a Haka login
- Single Sign On system
- Moodle learning environments
- Electronic services of the staff and students
- Changing the password, activating a new user account
- Websites, blogs and the intranet
- Networks, including wireless networks
- Printing and scanning
- Workstations and home directories

Id.tuni.fi and salasana.tuni.fi maintenance breaks were initiated by a new issue that we needed to fix as soon as possible. This break causes a service restart, which might result as an error in application.

Problem with network access in City Centre and Kauppi

The network issues should be now fixed.
Issue
We’re investigating issue with network access in City Center and Kauppi campuses. If you are in a hurry, we’d recommend meanwhile sharing your mobile phone network with wifi to your computer and then connecting to TUNI VPN. We’re sorry for the trouble.
