Original announcement on Office documents in Microsoft Teams:

For students and teachers working with Office documents in Microsoft Teams, we are beginning to roll out a temporary change where there will be an additional step in order to edit a document. This is a change from current behavior that allows users to go straight to edit mode when clicking on a document in the “Files” tab of a channel, a conversation, or from inside an assignment.

In all cases, upon clicking on the document, users will first see the document in view mode – they will be able to see the document content, but not make changes.

In order to edit the document, users need to click on the options in the top right of the white bar above the document content and select “Open in Browser” or (for users with Office for Windows installed on their device) “Open in Desktop App”. This will open the document in Office in a separate window from Teams and allow the user to make changes.

Issue

Editing files, that are saved to Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive for Business, is not working for some of users. For example Word and OneNote files may not be possible to edit inside Teams but can be edited in Word and OneNote online versions or Office desktop applications.

Intranet (intra.tuni.fi), public main site (tuni.fi) and Content machine services will be under maintenance on Thursday 9 April. Due to the maintenance, short breaks might occur between 7.30 and 9.00.

Interruption on Center Campus network services

The configuration is fixed.

Issue

The network connections in central campus infrastructure were disconnected momentarily between 14.35-14.44 due to an error in configuration. The problem affected some services mainly on central campus.

Momentary loss of connection on some VPN users

Resolution

The software bug was fixed.

Issue

Due to a software error there was an unexpected reboot on one of our VPN servers. This affected approximately 250 users in a way that their VPN connection was lost for a couple of minutes. This affected also licencing servers so if your software installation failed this might be the reason.

VPN is working normally at the moment.

Problems with Teams recordings and channels

Recorded meetings are working.

Users are now able to create Microsoft Teams channels within teams.

Issue

Recorded meetings not capturing screensharing for any user with a session lasting over an hour.
Users are unable to create Microsoft Teams channels within teams.
Service provider is investigating the issues.
