Interruptions in electronic services and network connections of Hervanta campus on Tuesday 22 November

Issue

Modifications will be made to the network connections of Hervanta campus. This may cause interruptions or short outages in the internet access of Hervanta campus as well as all electronic services and other services that use HAKA authentication when logging in with TUNI ID.

In principal, the changes will not affect the use of M365 services (eg Outlook, Teams, OneDrive) outside campuses and other sites.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The changes to be made are part of the TUNI core network renewal project, in which the core network implementation of the campuses will be renewed during 2021-2023 and the Internet connection will be updated to better serve the current and future needs of the Tampere university community.

Service break and changes on Eduuni services on 19-20 November

Issue

Service break on Saturday, September 10, 2022, 8 a.m. – Sunday,  September 11, 2022, 6 p.m. applies to the following Eduuni services:

  • Eduuni-wiki
  • Eduuni Jira
  • Eduuni-workspaces

Changes:

  • Bug and security fixes, data management activities
  • TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1 and weak ciphers will be disabled during the service break. Change doesn’t affect to Eduuni users if Eduuni is used with supported browsers and operating systems.

Nb! After the TLS change opening Office files to Office 2013 from Eduuni-workspaces doesn’t work without registry entry change. Follow this Microsoft’s guideline to make the change: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/update-to-enable-tls-1-1-and-tls-1-2-as-default-secure-protocols-in-winhttp-in-windows-c4bd73d2-31d7-761e-0178-11268bb10392

  • You can add the registry subkey installing the “Easy fix” to populate the registry subkey. It’s sufficient to enable only TLS 1.2.

Intranet and content machine will be under maintenance on Thursday 17 November. Due to the maintenance, short breaks might occur between 8 and 8.30 am.

Intranet (intra.tuni.fi): There might be problems with logging in between 8 and 8.30 am. Please note that changes made to content pages, news, events or your own profile may not be saved during the maintenance.

Content machine: Do not edit the content during the update, as the changes made may not be saved.

Problem on home folders (P-drive) and project folders (S-drive)

Resolution

Problem has been solved and everything should be working again. If there are any problems, for example with P-drive or S-drive, try logging off and back on or restarting your computer.

Issue

A problem has been detected on the network connections of TUNI network drives, so at least P-drive and S-drive may be experiencing issues. There can also be other issues too, for example computer being unusually slow. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.
