Problems with Zoom: Breakout Rooms work, still issues when joining with web browser

Resolution

Joining Zoom meetings with just web browser (without Zoom app) should be working again. If you have problems with that, please contact it-helpdesk@tuni.fi

Issue

Update 30.11. Zoom Breakout rooms work again normally. Joining Zoom meetings with web browser (without Zoom app) has still issues. Please use Zoom app. Zoom license of the meeting host has no effect to this issue.

 

Update 29.11. 11.50: Joining Zoom meetings with web browser (without Zoom app) does not work (again). Please use Zoom app.
Breakout rooms are still broken in on-prem and require Zoom license change for the meeting host. The root cause has been identified: incompatibility issue  between the latest Zoom client versions and the latest Zoom meeting server software version. Breakout rooms should be fixed in the evening, Monday 29.11.

Update 26.11. 10.40: Joining Zoom meetings with web browser (without Zoom app) works again normally.

Update 25.11. 17.00: Using just web browser to join Zoom meeting does not work at the moment. Workarounds:

Meeting Host: Breakout rooms can be used if your Zoom meetings are moved to public Zoom Cloud . Contact it-helpdesk@tuni.fi and ask Zoom license change to use public Zoom cloud.

 

Update 25.11. 10.40: It’s still not possible to use breakout rooms in Zoom. The problem has been escalated to Zoom. Follow NORDUnet status page for updates: https://status.nordu.net/
